Care Information

Thank you for purchasing leather product from BY YOM; It has been crafted to last.
To ensure its durability, it is advisable to observe specific precautions during use to prevent common errors.

Leather is a natural and delicate material that enhances with age.

We always choose 'full grain' leather, with a top layer that stays intact and unaltered. This guarantees durability and aging well, showcasing natural grain features like wrinkles, veins, and pores. These details reflect the transparency of the skin, a sign of its quality.

Leather is a transformative material, evolving over time to become softer and develop a subtle sheen. Through use, friction, and contact with the owner's hand, the leather will gradually form a patina, giving your item a distinctive character.

The hardware adds the final touch to its personality. The clasps, padlocks, buckles and locks are crafted from brass, stainless steel or aluminum, and coated in gold.

MAINTAIN ITS LOOK

Leather is sensitive to the elements. It does not like water, intense heat, direct sunlight, or excess humidity or aridity, all of which may alter its appearance and color. In the event of contact with water, wipe the item with a soft cloth to avoid the formation of any stains or bubbles during drying.

AVOID COMMON MISTAKES

Leather does not like to live a life of excess. Some materials may leave a permanent mark, such as ink, lipstick or fragrances. Similarly, repeated contact with raw or dark-colored textiles may discolor lighter shades of leather. To avoid distorting the shape of your object, do not insert contents that are too bulky or unsuitable.

ALLOW TIME FOR REST

Your object will need to rest if it is to retain its sheen. When you are not using it, we recommend storing your object in a warm, dry place away from light, preferably in its box or protective cover. The cushions, tissue paper or bubble wrap are designed to maintain the object’s original shape once all its zips and straps have been closed. We do not recommend using moisture-absorbing sachets.
